“Stitch Wednesday” 

On the second Wednesday of the month, at the Everglades Hotel in Derry/Londonderry, a group of keen stitchers and embroiderers come together to stitch. 

A diverse group of ladies, with a wide range of skills.  The Wednesday community find inspiration in sharing their projects such as quilts and learning new skills such as embroidery within the group.  Margaret Lee and Louise Kelly look after the group. 

An impromptu “Show & Tell” starts the morning activities, followed by sharing of skills and stories, with tea and coffee and a sweet treat to follow.  Sometimes not a lot of sewing gets done, the iron is always on, and we all bring whatever it is we are working on.  There is a block of the month running, 9 blocks in total and everyone stitches their own colors and interpretations of the instructions.
