Look at all o’ those chickens!! -Let’s learn Chicken Scratch Embroidery Technique.
Join Jules Mayouf as she takes you into the fun world of chicken scratch embroidery. Also known as Broderie Suisse, Depression Lace and Australian Cross Stitch ,this nostalgic stitching technique will remind you of early school as we use gingham fabric .Jules will show you how to sew the basic stitch combinations to create beautiful lace effect patterns Jules will also give you pointers on how to create your own patterns. Written instructions are provided. Gingham fabric colours may vary. Basic hand sewing skills required.

Be prepared to become hooked on this technique as you stitch your way to a sweet little bouquet of everlasting tulips which would be perfect for gifting, decorating or simply brightening your day. Jules will guide you through the construction technique, sharing tips and tricks along the way. There will be written instructions to take away so you can keep making more of these adorable pots whenever inspiration strikes.

Nancy Moreland:Blanket Stitch Appliqué & Redwork , 3 - 4.30 pm,Room A. .
This longer workshop is a perfect introduction to traditional blanket stitch appliqué and redwork embroidery - two classic techniques that pair beautifully together.
You’ll learn how to trace and prepare your templates, use Bondaweb to fuse the appliqué shapes to the background fabric, and then work neat, evenly spaced blanket stitches to secure them. After the workshop you can complete the design with stitching the wording with simple Backstitch.
The design for this workshop features two little houses with the heartfelt saying, “The distance between friends is never far.” Your finished appliqué and embroidery will be displayed in a wooden hoop, ready to hang as a lovely keepsake or gift.

Explore the creative possibilities of Inktense colouring on fabric in this relaxed and artistic workshop. You'll learn how to use Inktense pencils and fabric medium to bring a printed or traced design to life with vibrant colour and soft shading.
You’ll be guided through preparing the fabric, blending colours, and setting the ink to ensure it becomes permanent and washable. This technique is ideal for decorative embroidery backgrounds, quilt blocks, journal covers, and more.
